It almost broke my heart to look through these pictures. One week from today, Jess and I were supposed to be headed back to California. Covid has changed nearly all my plans for the foreseeable photos. I don’t really want to talk about it ;) But here we go – California Travel Photos – Yosemite to San Juan Bautista. After flying from Toronto to San Jose (via Denver), Jess and I drove straight to The Groveland Hotel in the small town of Groveland, the gateway to Yosemite National Park. We drove into the park with no plan at all. I really, really don’t recommend this. I wish we had been more prepared, had more time. But alas, it wasn’t so. It’s a huge, beautiful place and we basically had a chance to take in a bit of the valley before it started getting dark. Still, it was better than nothing ;)
DAY 2
On our second day, we began our drive to the coast. We stopped on the side of the road at a little (nearly abandoned) town, Chinese Camp. It was peaceful and beautiful and saw only one person – a woman walking her dog. The best travel adventures are always the unplanned ones. Later, driving along the highway, we saw a sign for the town of San Juan Bautista so we pulled over. We got coffee at a little shop and walked around the quiet town. It was by far one of my favourite memories of the entire trip. The weather was perfect and we loved seeing the giant cactuses everywhere! I’m excited to share more from our trip to California but I hope you enjoyed these California Travel Photos – Yosemite to San Juan Bautista.
