Backyard weddings will always have my heart. Jacy’s backyard wedding full of greenery, twinkle lights and vintage furniture. She paid attention to every detail. From the brass candle holders to the hand written leaves with each guest’s name on them.
But before we get into that, we need to talk about the special guest that graced our photo session at The Doctor’s Inn. Andrew and Jacy got engaged in Peru and she’s always been a huge fan of llamas. We were thrilled and excited to find a llama living right next door to the Inn. One of Jacy’s bridesmaids paid a visit to the neighbours asking if the llama might join us for some photos. And of course, she obliged. It was a pretty special moment! This was also the first time that we were able to pull out my new drone at a wedding. Thanks to the help of groomsman Austin, we got some great shots. My favourite is the image of the bride and groom laying on the bridge.
The backyard ceremony was peaceful as the wind blew through the trees. It was emotional and heartfelt and if you look closer, you’ll see an image of the groom blowing a kiss to his grandmother as he walked back down the aisle with his bride on his arm.
My absolute favourite part of the entire wedding day was stealing Andrew and Jacy away for a few minutes on sunset on the beach. The night could not have been more peaceful or perfect. I will always take the time to capture sunset shots if the day allows and this was a sunset I will not soon forget.
Be sure to visit yesterday’s post to see Andrew + Jacy’s beach first look!
